Arrests Made in Area Thefts

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Deputies made two arrests on July 10, 2014 that closes three burglary and theft investigations.  Steven Burfield was questioned regarding his involvement with a burglary and theft of multiple weapons that occurred on July 8, 2014 in the Burnout Community.  Officers then obtained a search warrant for a residence on Zollie Barnes Road in Russellville and located Dedrick White, a convicted felon.  The search produced various drugs that were seized, including marijuana and crack cocaine.  Two Stihl weed eaters and 1 Stihl Chainsaw were also located at the residence.  The weapons were hidden at another location that White then directed law enforcement to.  Recovered were eleven long guns and 1 handgun that all were previously reported stolen.

Steven Ray Burfield, Jr., 27 of Red Bay, was arrested and charged with Theft of Property 1st, Theft of Property 2nd, 2 counts of Burglary 3rd, and Criminal Mischief.

Dedrick Eugene White, 35 of Russellville, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd, Receiving Stolen Property 3rd, Possession of Marijuana 1st and 3 counts of Possession of Controlled Substance.

This release sent out today, 7/15/14, is a corrected version of the one issued yesterday.  Steven Ray Burfield’s charges were corrected to show the 2 counts of Burglary 3rd instead of the Burglary 2nd that was previously listed.
